Install when the listing is live
When Ceryvex for Chrome is available on the Chrome Web Store, open the listing, choose Add to Chrome, and confirm. Pin the toolbar icon if Chrome places it under the extensions menu.
Until then, the home page shows a Coming soon notice instead of a store link. There is no download button for another product.
Open the cleanup
Click the Ceryvex toolbar icon to open the popup. Choose Open full side panel if you want the same cleanup beside the page you are browsing. Opening the popup or the side panel does not remove anything.
Cleanup categories
- Cached browser files — temporary website files from the time range you choose. Chrome may also clear some short-lived temporary caches no matter how old they are. Downloads and bookmarks stay.
- Browsing history — websites visited during the time range you choose. Bookmarks are not removed. If Chrome sync is on, history from that range can also leave your Google account, including on other signed-in devices. Chrome may also clear related browser records outside your selected time range.
- Cookies and site data — may sign you out of websites and remove saved preferences or offline information. Some related website data may be removed even if it is older than your selected time range.
Saved passwords, autofill, bookmarks, and downloads are not removed.
Review before you clean
Select a time range and at least one category, then choose Review cleanup. Read the summary. If cookies are selected, you must check the acknowledgement before Clean selected items is available. Back returns without removing anything.
Cookie sign-outs
Cleaning cookies and site data may sign you out of websites and remove saved preferences or offline information. Some related website data may be removed even if it is older than your selected time range. The extension shows this before you confirm.
Interrupted cleanup
Ceryvex saves a small cleanup-status record on this computer so an interrupted cleanup can be handled safely. That record does not store browsing history, cookie contents, or visited website addresses.
If the result cannot be verified, the extension says so and does not try the cleanup again. Continue means you are ready to move on. It does not remove data and it does not mean the earlier cleanup succeeded. Chrome may still be finishing a cleanup after the extension is interrupted, and Chrome cannot tell Ceryvex how that cleanup ended.
If cleanup is already running, the page says: “Chrome cleanup is already running. Please try again when it finishes.”
Privacy
This version does not ask for an account and does not send your browsing data to Ceryvex or anywhere else. Read the full privacy policy.
